A Day for Mag Editors, Radio Hosts, and a Client

Another exciting day as we continue to spread the word on da.u.de Tea Lounge, your tea place on 26th and 4th Ave BGC Taguig. I am a bit exhausted at the end of today though quite elated for the opportunity to meet such a lo

vely group of professionals.

The day started with a trip to Mega Publishing offices in Ortigas where da.u.de was invited to unveil 2 drinks from the upcoming da.u.de Tea Lounge. They had asked me to sample a da.u.de spiked drink and a da.u.de young drink. I had the challenge of choosing which ones to showcase since this would mark as the very first time I would showcase drinks from the da.u.de tea lounge. I decided on making my Papaya-Kamille Mar-Tea-Ni and my Fizzy Skala, a cranberry and rooibos concoction. Along with me were my assistant, Helen, and my restaurant management consultant, Mike. After a bit of a wait at the lobby, we were directed to set up at Mega Publishing’s kitchen. As I was walking in, I noticed that some staff were from Appetite.ph and so I quickly rang an editor I had been talking to, Timmy, and informed her that I’m in their kitchen and would like to finally meet her. Interestingly enough, the Food Editor of Appetite Magazine, Miguel, noticed Mike and came over. As it turns out, they were classmates in college. What a small world. A little bit of meet and greet and we were almost ready to start. It was quite a warm room and when Lifestyle Asia Magazine Senior Editor Cristina Gomez showed up, she suggested we move to the board room where it was more comfortable. Thank heavens because it was quite a hot day. It really felt like a brutal New York summer since I was in a business suit. :) Also present were representatives from their internal events department which included Elle Ong. Mike mixed the drinks for us while I chatted away with Cristina. I always welcome the opportunity to speak about our company philosophy and mantra and I’m always glad on how most really appreciate the effort we put in with da.u.de products. After much oohs and aahs I am so pleased to say that the team loved it. They are equally excited with the upcoming da.u.de tea lounge. Hopefully all things go well because it looks like we walked out of their offices with at least mentions and features from three Mega publications. Do stay tuned for which ones :) Sadly I was not able to take photos of my trip there as I was quite busy with the meeting. Thank you Angel Tangco for the introductions!

Next up, we crossed the street over to make our way to RX 93.1. One of the DJs for the 1 pm radio show, Anna Buena, is a good friend of Mike. He really wanted to touch base again with Anna and so he brought us along. That was were we met some of the DJs namely Rico Robles, Karen Bordador, Anna (of course), Louie D, etc. Karen was so sweet. She took a liking to my Henri Bendel ring and she noticed I was wearing lingerie underneath my jacket. lol. It kind of became a topic at that point. I blushed but I guess I’m just being myself. We bid our good byes because they were quite busy. Just about a few minutes after we left, we tuned into the radio and was so surprised to hear them give Mike, Helen, and I a shout out. I was a bit embarrassed because they mentioned on air that I was the girl with the “transparent bustier”. ha! Well, at least I left an impression ;) Fun times and thanks Mike and Anna for that! I absolutely love it when people catch me in moments were I’m just relaxed, carefree, and myself. Of course, anyone with a bit of humor is on my A list.

A bit of rest and we’re off to another meeting. This time with a potential client who is opening an upscale Japanese fusion restaurant in High Street Central with a very modern approach. I of course cannot give specifics yet about this but the little bit of food they made me taste blew my mind! I did some tea sampling for them and I gave some comments on the tea ware and service ceremony. So far, so good.

It was already 7 pm and my day just started to unwind. I can always rely on Neo Spa for my downtime. Signing off now. Tomorrow is another beautiful day to continue educating Filipinos about tea and tea culture. Salamat sa Diyos na nagbibigay ng biyaya. And as always, as I finish up this blog, I give thanks to the man I dedicate my life work to, my father whom I am blessed to have learned from. Magandang gabi.

P.S. – Final inspection of the tea lounge space on Friday! Whoa, are we really getting close to the grand opening date? Heavens.
